I just found out that Efren Penaflorida of the Philippines was named 2009 CNN Hero Of The Year.
I first read about him in Reader's Digest. I then found out about the CNN competition through a commercial in a local TV station encouraging Filipinos to vote for him online. I'm glad that he won and I hope that he can help more Filipino kids.
